On Tuesday, May 3, India reported 2,568 fresh cases of Covid-19 along with 20 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data shared by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the total infection caseload of Covid-19 in the country has climbed to 4,30,84,913, said the data. 

With 2,911 people recuperating from the disease in the last 24 hours, the total caseload of recoveries from Covid-19 has reached 4,25,41,887, said the ministry. The recovery rate in India stands at 98.74 percent and active cases comprise 0.04 percent of the total infections. as per the data. 

Daily and Weekly Positivity rate 

The total caseload of Covid-19 infection has climbed to 4,30,84,913 and the death toll has reached 5,23,889, said the data shared by the ministry. 

As per the ministry, the daily positivity rate in the nation stands at 1.07 percent and the weekly positivity rate has been recorded at 0.70 percent. 

Maharashtra's Thane district 

In the Thane district of Maharashtra, 4 fresh cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours, pushing the infection tally to 7,09,075, said an official. He said that these cases were reported on Monday. With zero fatality in the last 24 hours, the death toll remains unchanged at 11,893, the official said. 

Mumbai 

On Monday, Mumbai reported 56 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the infection tally to 10,59,970, said an official from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The death toll remains unchanged at 19,563 with zero fatality and with 45 fresh recoveries, the total tally of recoveries from Covid-19 in the state has reached 10,39,768, said the official.
