On Saturday, India registered 2,858 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 11 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With 11 virus-related fresh fatalities, the death toll due to Covid-19 has reached 5,24,201 in the last 24 hours, the data showed.
Active cases have declined to 18,096 and the daily positivity rate stands at 0.59 percent, the ministry said. The active cases comprise 0.04 percent of the total infections, and the recovery rate stands at 98.74 percent, said the data.

Mumbai
On Friday, Mumbai reported 155 fresh Covid-19 cases along with one fresh fatality, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The total tally of Covid-19 infections in the city has climbed to 10,61,332 and the death toll has reached 19,564, said the corporation.
With 116 people recuperating from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, the total caseload of recoveries from Covid-19 in the city has reached 10,40,870, said BMC.
Delhi
On Friday, Delhi logged 899 fresh Covid-19 cases along with four fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the health bulletin. This is the highest single-day death count in over two months. The positivity rate in the national capital stands at 3.34 percent.
Tamil Nadu
On Friday, Tamil Nadu reported 44 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of infections to 34,54,556, said the health department.
Gujarat
Gujarat reported 35 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours on Friday, taking the total tally of infections to 12,24,657. With no fresh fatality, the death toll remains unchanged at 10,994, said the health department.
