Covid Updates: India logs 3,805 Fresh Cases, Delhi's Positivity Rate crosses 5%

Fresh cases of Covid-19 are increasing again in the country. The national capital recorded more than 1,000 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.

On Saturday, India reported 3,805 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total infection tally to 4,30,98,743, as per the data updated by the Union health ministry. With 22 fresh virus-related fatalities being recorded in the last 24 hours, the death toll has climbed to 5,24,024, said the data. 

As per the health ministry, the weekly positivity rate in the nation stands at 0.70 percent, while the daily positivity rate has reached 1.07 percent. With 3,000 recoveries from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the total tally of recoveries has reached 4,25,54,416, showed the data. 

Delhi 

On Friday, Delhi registered 1,656 fresh Covid-19 cases along with zero fresh fatality, as per the state health bulletin. The positivity rate in the national capital stands at 5.39 percent, said the data. As per the data, more than 30,000 tests were administered to detect coronavirus. With fresh cases, the infection tally in Delhi has climbed to 18,91,425, while the death toll stands at 26,177, the data said. 

Maharashtra 

On Friday, Maharashtra reported 205 fresh Covid-19 cases and zero virus-related fatality, as per the state health department. With this, the total infection tally in the state has climbed to 78,78,801 and the death toll remains unchanged at 1,47,845, said the department. 

Meanwhile, Mumbai registered 117 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the infection tally to 10,60,434, said an official. 

Tamil Nadu 

On Friday, the state health department said that Tamil Nadu reported 64 fresh cases, pushing the active caseload to 474 in the last 24 hours. The total infection tally in the state has reached 34,54,217, said the department.
