On Tuesday, India has reported 6,915 fresh cases of coronavirus, pushing the overall caseload tally to 42,931,045, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With 180 deaths, the nation's Covid-19 related fatalities have increased to 5,14,023, as per the data. Meanwhile, the active caseload has declined to 92,472, comprising 0.22% of the total caseload. The nation is reporting daily Covid-19 cases less than one lakh for 23 consecutive days.
In the last 24 hours, the active cases were declined to 10,129 and the daily recoveries have reached to 16,864, the ministry said. Overall, 4.23 crore people have been recovered from the virus, which is 98.59% of the total cases.
Covid-19 Vaccination
On Monday, the number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in India have crossed 177.67 crore, said the Union Health Ministry. More than 2 crore precaution doses have been provided to healthcare and frontline workers and comorbid people aged 60 and above.
The countrywide vaccination drive was started on January 16 with healthcare workers getting inoculated in the first phase. 90% of adolescents in the age group of 15 to 18 years in the national capital have been administered the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 since the launch of the drive on January 3.
Cases in Delhi
In the last 24 hours, Delhi has reported 258 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 499 recoveries. The active cases in the state stand at 1,845, as per the health ministry.
