On Wednesday, India has reported 7,554 fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 4,29,38,599, while the active cases have declined to 85,680, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll has climbed to 5,14,246 with 223 fresh fatalities due to the viral infection in the last 24 hours, stated the data updated at 8 am. The daily Covid-19 cases have remained less than one lakh for 24 consecutive days.
The active cases comprises 0.20 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has further improved to 98.60 per cent, said the ministry.
BCCI allows 50 percent attendance for India vs Sri Lanka match
On Tuesday, BCCI has allowed a 50 percent attendance crowd for the first Test between India and Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to begin from March 4 at PCA Stadium in Mohali. Reportedly, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) had confirmed last week that the 1st Test in Mohali will be played without spectators due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Covid in Delhi
Till Tuesday evening, Delhi has recorded 344 new Covid-19 cases along with 416 recoveries and 4 deaths, as per the data shared by state health bulletin. The national capital’s case count has now reached to 18,60,236 and the death toll stands at 26,126.
Chhattisgarh
In the last 24 hours, Chhattisgarh has recorded 79 fresh Covid-19 cases with no deaths, said the city health department's data.
Punjab
On Wednesday, Punjab has recorded 51 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 4 deaths in the last 24 hours.
