On Tuesday, July 5, India reported 13,086 new cases of coronavirus along with 19 new fatalities and 12,456 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the ministry said that the death toll has climbed to 5,25,242 and the total tally of recoveries stands at 4,28,91,933.
Comprising 0.26 percent of the total cases, the active cases in the country currently stand at 1,14,475. The daily positivity rate stands at 2.90 percent and the weekly positivity rate stands at 3.81 percent, said the ministry.

West Bengal
On Monday, West Bengal reported 1,132 fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the overall caseload of infections in the state to 20,35,617, as per the state health bulletin.
Himachal Pradesh
On Monday, Himachal Pradesh logged 133 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to reach 2,86,547, as per an official. With 126 people recovering from the deadly infection, the total tally of recoveries in the state has reached 2,81,730, the official said.
Tamil Nadu
In the last 24 hours, Tamil Nadu registered 2,654 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the overall caseload in the state to 34,85,429, as per a health bulletin.
Delhi
With the positivity rate standing at 5.25 percent, Delhi reported 420 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 1 fresh fatality and 749 people recovering from the disease in the last 24 hours, as per the state health department.
