On Wednesday, August 17, India logged 9,062 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 36 new fatalities and 15,220 people recovering from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. 

With this, the total tally of deaths related to Covid-19 in the country has reached 5,27,134, said the ministry.

Comprising 0.24 percent of the total infections, the active caseload currently stands at 1,05,508, said the ministry. 

The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 2.49 percent and 4.38 percent respectively, the data showed.

Delhi 

On Tuesday, Delhi reported 917 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 3 fresh fatalities, as per the state health department. The city's positivity rate currently stands at 19.20 percent, said the bulletin. 

Gujarat 

On Tuesday, Gujarat reported 425 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 1 fresh fatality, taking the overall caseload of Covid-19 infections in the state to reach 12,66,168, as per the state health bulletin. 

Telangana 

On Tuesday, Telangana reported 406 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the overall caseload of infections in the state to reach 8,29,873, as per the health bulletin.
