On Saturday, July 23, India reported 21,411 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 67 deaths and 20,726 people recuperating from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. The fatalities consist of 32 people succumbing to the virus in Kerala, 7 in West Bengal, 3 each in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, 6 in Maharashtra, 2 each from Bihar, Assam, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya, and 1 each from Delhi, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Sikkim.

Comprising 0.34 percent of the total infections, the active caseload currently stands at 1,50,100, said the ministry. The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate stand at 4.46 percent each.

Vaccination Drive
In the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive, a total of 201.68 Crore people have taken vaccine doses, including 92.90 Crore second dose and 6.93 Crore precaution dose. However, on Friday, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar spoke in Lok Sabha, "As on 18th July, an estimated 4 crore eligible beneficiaries have not taken even a single dose of Covid vaccine."
Mumbai
On Friday, Mumbai logged 299 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the total caseload to 11,22,408, as per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. With 1 new fatality, the death toll has climbed to 16,637, said an official.
Delhi
On Friday, the national capital logged 712 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 593 people recovering from the deadly infection and 1 person succumbing to the viral infection. The active caseload in the national capital currently stands at 2,327 along with the positivity rate standing at 4.47 percent, as per the state health department.
