On Thursday, India has reported 11,919 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 470 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by Union Health Ministry. 11,242 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the recovery rate to 98.28 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020. With fresh cases, the country's active caseload now stands at 1,28,762. The active cases account for less than 1 per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.37 per cent, which is the lowest since March 2020, said the data. 

On Wednesday, Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla termed vaccine hesitancy as the greatest threat in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic while urging all adults to get vaccinated at the earliest.

In a tweet, he said, "The vaccine industry has worked tirelessly to provide enough stocks for the nation. Today there are over 200 million doses available with states. I urge all adults to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Vaccine hesitancy is now the greatest threat in overcoming this pandemic."
