India has reported 24,354 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 234 deaths in the last 24 hours. As per the latest data update of Union Health Ministry active caseload stands at 2,73,889 which is the lowest in 197 days. 

 On Saturday, the country has seen a slight fall in the daily tally of the Covid-19 disease as 24,354 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, pushing the caseload of the disease to 33,791,061. At present, the active cases stand at 273,889 which is the lowest in 179 days. 

Karnataka has reported 589 new Covid-19 cases and 13 deaths on Friday, now the total number of infections stands to 29,76,589 and the death toll has reached to 37,807. The day also saw 887 recoveries, the total number of recoveries in the state stands at 29,26,284. 

221 fresh cases were reported from Bengaluru Urban along with 212 discharges and 5 deaths.

India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 89.67 Crore (89,67,51,334) today. Including more than 62 lakh (62,86,379) vaccine doses administered till 7 pm on Friday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said. 

On Friday, Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar said, "We conducted a survey and found that around 0.19 per cent of people who have taken the first dose are found infected with Covid-19 and around 0.25 per cent people were found infected after taking both doses of vaccine."
