India has reported 30,570 new cases along with 431 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data uploaded by Union Health Ministry. The death toll in the country has reached to 4,43,928 with 431 more deaths due to virus in last 24 hours.
On Wednesday, Mumbai has recorded 514 fresh Covid-19 cases which is the highest since mid-July this year. Meanwhile, Assam has reported 444 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 706 recoveries and 8 deaths today. Active cases in the state has reached 4,049. The total recoveries in the state now stands at 5,85,435. Whereas, the death toll has reached to 5,775 in the state.
Meanwhile, the WHO said, "there were about 4 million coronavirus cases reported globally last week, marking the first major drop in new infections in more than two months. In recent weeks, there have been about 4.4 million new Covid-19 cases", as reported by PTI. As per the reports by Indian Express, The PTI further said, "in its weekly update released on Tuesday, the UN health agency said every region in the world saw a drop in Covid-19 cases compared to the previous week. Although the worldwide number of deaths decreased to about 62,000, with the sharpest decline in Southeast Asia, there was a 7 per cent increase in deaths in Africa."
