On Monday, India has reported 33,750 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 123 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the latest data update by the health ministry. With 10,846 recoveries, the country’s active caseload stands at 1,45,582. Total recoveries reaches to 3,42,95,407 and death toll due to infection has reached to 4,81,893 in the country, said the health ministry. Total 1,45,68,89,306 vaccine doses have been administered till date.
Omicron Cases
According to the Union Ministry of Health, the Omicron tally in the country has reached to 1,700, with 639 recoveries. Maharashtra have 510 Omicron cases, followed by Delhi with 351 cases.
Covid Vaccination for Teenagers
Meanwhile, Covid vaccination for teenagers, aged between 15 to 18 years, starts from today. The Union Health Ministry had announced that Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will be the one that will be administered to eligible children in two doses at an interval of 28 days.
Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has appealed to the public to get vaccinated. She said, “Vaccination will begin for those who who 15 to 18 years of age from today. Nine different centres that will be administering the vaccines. I request people to come forward and register and please keep Covid 19 and Omicron at bay.”
