On Thursday, India has reported 47,092 fresh Covid-19 positive cases in last 24 hours, taking tally to reach 32,857,937. However, recoveries caseload has reached to 32,028,825, deaths caseload has reached 4,39,529 and active cases have risen up to 3,89,583, as per the data released by Health Ministry.
As per the reports by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 524,868,734 samples were tested up to September 1, 2021. Including 1,684,441 tests on September 1, 2021.
India's daily caseload of Covid-19 cases has jumped by 12% on Thursday. As per Union Health Ministry, active cases constitute 1.15% of total cases, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands 97.48%.
As reported by Hindustan Times, "A new variant of S-CoV-2, the virus which causes Covid-19, has been detected in South Africa and many other countries globally which could be more transmissible and evade protection provided by vaccines, according to a study. The new variant has more mutations than other variants of concern or variants of interest detected worldwide so far, researchers said."
