On Saturday, as said by the health ministry, India has reported 7,189 fresh Covid-19 cases, along with 7,286 recoveries, and 387 deaths in the last 24 hours. With fresh cases the Active caseload in the country stands at 77,032. Meanwhile, the caseload of total recoveries has reached to 3,42,23,263, said the ministry. As per the ministry, the death toll in the country has reached to 4,79,520.
Omicron Update
A total of 415 Omicron cases were reported in 17 States/UTs of India so far. The number of persons recovered is 115, said the Union Health Ministry.
Maharashtra
Amidst rising Omicron threat in the country, the Ahmednagar district administration issued a 'no vaccine, no entry' order covering various areas, including private establishments, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, cinemas, auditoriums, marriage halls, agriculture markets as well as events. Gatherings of five or more will not be allowed in Maharashtra between 9 pm and 6 am, the state government announced on Friday, as coronavirus cases recorded their steepest rise in nearly two months amid the spread of the highly infectious Omicron variant.
Delhi Government
The Delhi government on Friday ordered Sarojini Nagar market to operate on odd-even basis over the weekend in view of the large footfalls seen at the place in the last few days, amid a spike in COVID-19 cases and the threat of Omicron variant
