On Monday, India has reported 8,309 fresh Covid-19 cases and 236 fresh fatalities, pushing the overall case tally to 3,45,80,832 and the death count to 4,68,790, according to the Health Ministry data update. In the last 24 hours, 9,905 recoveries were reported throughout the country. With this, the national recovery rate currently stands at 98.34 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020. On Monday, the active cases in the country stood at 1,03,859, the data said. 

Maharashtra  

Meanwhile, Thane has reported 108 fresh cases of coronavirus, pushing the infection tally in the Maharashtra district to 5,69,161, an official said on Monday. No fatality has been recorded in the district due to the viral infection, the death toll stood at 11,581, the official said, adding that the Covid-19 mortality rate in Thane is 2.03 per cent. 

Karnataka 

Karnataka has reported 315 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths in the past 24 hours, said a state health bulletin. As many as 236 patients recovered from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. The active cases stand at 6,831. The total recovery stands at 29,50,542 and cumulative deaths at 38,198.  

Tamil Nadu 

Tamil Nadu has recorded 736 new Covid-19 cases and nine deaths in the past 24 hours, said a state health bulletin. As many as 772 patients recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. There are 8,337 active cases in the state. The total number of deaths stands at 36,463.
