On Monday, India has recorded 10,229 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours which is 9.2% lower than yesterday, as per the data updated by the union health ministry. The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 38 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 141 consecutive days now. The death toll has reached to 4,63,655 with 125 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data. Currently, the fatality rate in the country is at 1.34%. 

The active caseload stands at 1,34,096, as per the Health Ministry data, which is the lowest in nearly 523 days. The national Covid-19 recovery rate is at 98.26%, the highest since March 2020, the ministry said.

The country also recorded 11,926 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the total number total recoveries in the country to 33,849,785. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.12%. This has been less than 2% for 42 days, the ministry said.

As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 30,20,119 vaccine doses have been administered in the last 24 hours. With this, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 112.34 Cr (1,12,34,30,478) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
