On Friday morning, India has recorded 10,549 fresh coronavirus cases along with 488 fresh fatalities due to the infection, according to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With new cases the country's cumulative cases tally has recahed to 3,45,55,431 and death count has reached to 4,67,468.
Active cases in India are now standing at 1,10,133, which is the lowest in 539 days, whereas recovery rate stands at 98.33%, which is the highest since March 2020, said the health ministry. The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 49 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 152 consecutive days now.
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 infection tally in Thane district of Maharashtra has increased by 108 and reached to 5,68,724 and the death of one patient took the toll to 11,579, said an official on Friday.
An official spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs, Arindam Bagchi has shared on twitter that 15 more nations are going to recognize India's vaccination certificate.
