On Thursday, India has reported 90,928 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 4,82,551 recoveries and 325 deaths in 24 hours, said the health ministry. As per the health ministry, India's daily cases see a jump of over 56%, with the daily positivity rate standing at 4.18 per cent. The active caseload of Covid-19 cases in the country now stands at 2,85,401.

Omicron 

India has reported 2,630 cases of the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 so far, the health ministry data stated. As per the ministry, Maharashtra has reported 797 cases, followed by Delhi at 465 cases, Rajasthan at 236 cases and Kerala at 234 cases.  

Vaccinations 

Overall, 148.7 crore doses have been administered so far. On Wednesday, over 90.4 lakh doses were given till 10 pm, including those given to adults. According to the CoWIN data, over 44 lakh doses were given to adolescents on the first day, while 40.84 lakh doses were administered on the second day. 

In an official statement, Bharat Biotech said, “We have received feedback that certain immunization centres are recommending taking three paracetamol 500 mg tablets along with Covaxin for Children. No paracetamol or pain killers are recommended after being vaccinated with Covaxin.”
