Covid Updates: India reports 1,086 fresh cases, 15.70 Vaccine doses unutilized

On Wednesday India has registered 1,086 fresh Covid-19 cases. As per the govt. data, states and UTs are having more than 15.70 crores of unutilized vaccine doses.

On Wednesday, India has reported 1,086 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the active caseload to 11,871, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. The nation has recorded 71 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours. 

As per the ministry, the active cases in the nation comprised 0.03 percent of the total infections. The recovery rate due to Covid-19 in the nation has reached 98.76 percent. Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate stands at 0.23 percent and the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.22 percent, said the ministry.

With 1,198 people recovering from Covid-19, the total tally of Covid-19 recoveries in the nation has reached 4,24,97,567. 

Vaccination Coverage: 185 crores mark crossed 

On Tuesday, India has crossed the milestone of 185 crores of vaccinations as 13 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, said the health ministry. The ministry said on Tuesday, that more than 15.70 crores of vaccine doses against Covid-19 are still available with the states and Union Territories (UTs). 

As per an official statement, "More than 185.53 crores vaccine doses were provided to the state and Union Territories (UTs) through Govt. of India and direct procurement, out of which more than 15.70 crores vaccine doses are unutilized", quoted Times of India. 

Delhi 

On Tuesday, Delhi has registered 112 fresh cases of Covid-19 along with 92 recoveries. The case tally of active cases in the national capital stands at 488, as per the State health bulletin. 

China's Shanghai reports 16,766 cases 

As reported by Reuters, China's Shanghai has reported 16,766 fresh asymptomatic cases on Tuesday.
