On Friday, India has reported 12,516 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 501 fresh fatalities due to the infection in the last 24 hours. Active caseload currently stands at 1,37,416 which is the lowest in 267 days, according to the data updated by Union health ministry. With 12,516 fresh cases the caseload of Covid-19 infections in the country has reached to 3,44,14,186. The number of deaths have climbed to 4,62,690 with 501 fresh fatalities, as per the data.

The active cases comprise 0.40% of the total infections which is the lowest since March 2020. Meanwhile, the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.26% which is the highest since March 2020, the ministry said.

As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Currently, the recovery rate stands at 98.26% which is the highest since March 2020.  So far, 110.79 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country under nationwide vaccination drive.
