On Monday, July 11, India reported 16,678 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 42 people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the total tally of Covid-19 infections has climbed to 4,36,22,651 while the death toll has reached 5,25,428, said the ministry.
Comprising 0.30 percent of the total infections, the active caseload currently stands at 1,30,713, the ministry said. The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate stand at 4.22 percent and 4.08 percent respectively.
Maharashtra
Maharashtra's Thane district reported 270 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the total tally of infections to 7,31,464, as reported by the news agency PTI. With one new fatality, the death toll has climbed to 11,914 and the active caseload currently stands at 2,297, said the health official.
Chhattisgarh
On Sunday, Chhattisgarh reported 110 fresh Covid-19 cases, pushing the total tally of infections in the state to 11,56,159, as per the state health department. With no fresh fatality being recorded, the death toll remains unchanged at 14,043, said the department.
West Bengal
On Sunday, West Bengal reported 2,962 new cases of coronavirus, with a positivity rate standing at 17.36 percent, as per the health department.
Delhi
On Sunday, the national capital logged 433 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 2 new fatalities and 549 recoveries, as per the city's health department. With the positivity rate standing at 2.96 percent in the city, the active caseload currently stands at 2,146.
