On Tuesday, India has reported 1,67,059 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 1,192 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the government. With this the total tally of Covid-19 cases in the country has reached to 4,14,69,499 with country's active caseload standing at 17,43,059. The current daily positivity rate is 11.69%, the ministry said. 

Vaccination Status 

As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India has administered a total of 1,66,68,48,204 doses till date including 61,45,767 doses administered in the last 24 hours. So far, 73.06 crore samples have been tested including 14,28,672 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

Vaccine for Children soon 

As reported by Reuters, "vaccines for children younger than 5 could be available as soon as end-February under a plan that would lead to the potential authorization of a two-shot regimen in the coming weeks." 

Maharashtra 

The state government of Maharashtra has allowed an increase in the number of guests at marriage functions, and also permitted swimming pools, water parks, theatres and restaurants to remain open with 50 per cent capacity subject to nod of the competent authority.
