On Thursday, India reported 20,557 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 44 new fatalities and 19,216 people recovering from the disease in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the overall tally of Covid-19 infections has climbed to 43,959,321.
Comprising 0.33 percent of the total infections, the active caseload currently stands at 1,46,323, said the ministry. With the recovery rate standing at 98.47 percent, the total caseload of recoveries stands at 4,32,86,787 including 19,216 recoveries in the last 24 hours, said the data.

Positivity Rate
The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 5.18 percent and 4.71 percent respectively, as per the ministry. In the last 24 hours, a total of 42,20,625 vaccination doses have been administered, as per the data update by the Health Ministry.

Thane
On Wednesday, Maharashtra's Thane district reported 141 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the overall caseload of Covid-19 in the district to 7,33,777, said an official. With no fresh fatality in the last 24 hours, the death toll remains unchanged at 11,927. The active caseload in the district currently stands at 829, said the official.
Chhattisgarh
In the last 24 hours, Chhattisgarh reported 491 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the overall caseload of the infections to reach 11,64,262, said an official.
Tamil Nadu
On Tuesday, Tamil Nadu reported 1,846 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the overall caseload to reach 35,36,092, said the health department. With no fresh fatality, the death toll remains unchanged at 38,032, said the health department.
