On Saturday, India has reported 2,35,532 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the caseload to 40,858,241, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. 871 patients have succumbed to Covid-19 along with 3,35,939 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the ministry said. 

With an active caseload of 200,04,333, the country’s weekly positivity rate stands at 16.89%. Active cases have reached to 20,04,333 (4.91%) with daily positivity rate standing at 13.39%. 

Gujarat extends Night Curfew 

In Gujarat, night curfew has been imposed in 27 cities to curb the coronavirus pandemic which has been extended till February 4, said an official on Friday. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel took the decision during a core committee meeting in Gandhinagar. As per the release, number of new Covid-19 cases were declining in Gujarat, but 12,131 persons were found infected during the last 24 hours.
