Covid Updates: India reports 2,364 Fresh Cases

The nation reported 2,364 fresh Covid-19 cases and 10 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours.

On Thursday, May 19, India reported 2,364 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 10 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With 2,582 people recuperating from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, the overall caseload of recoveries has reached 4,25,89,841, said the ministry. 

With a decline of 228 active cases in the country, the active cases in the country stand at 15,419, the ministry said. With 10 fresh fatalities due to the viral infection in the last 24 hours, the death toll has reached 5,24,303, showed the data. At present, the nation's recovery rate stands at 98.75 percent, the data said. 

Under the nationwide vaccination drive against coronavirus, 191.65 crore vaccine doses have been administered to date, as per the ministry's data update. 

Delhi 

As per the health authorities, the national capital recorded 532 fresh cases of coronavirus along with zero death and the positivity rate has reached 2.13 percent. 

Maharashtra 

Maharashtra reported 307 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of infections to 78,81,542, as per the health department. With one virus-related fresh fatality the death toll stands at 1,47,856, the department said. 

Thane district reported 30 fresh cases on Wednesday, taking the overall infection tally to 7,09,410, said the health department. 

Tamil Nadu 

As per the health department, Tamil Nadu registered 36 fresh cases of Covid-19. The overall caseload of Covid-19 in the state has reached 34,54,722, said the officials. 

Odisha 

On Tuesday, Odisha reported 13 fresh cases of Covid-19 with zero fresh fatality, as per the health department. As per the health bulletin, there are 123 active cases in the state with 8 people recuperating from the disease.
