On Monday, India reported 2,541 fresh cases along with 30 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the active cases in the country have reached 16,522 while the death toll has climbed to 5,22,223, said the ministry. With 1,862 recoveries being recorded in the last 24 hours, the total caseload of recoveries in the country has climbed to 4,25,21,341 with the recovery rate reaching 98.75 percent, the ministry said. The daily positivity rate in the country stands at 0.84 percent with the weekly positivity rate standing at 0.54 percent, the data showed.
Delhi
Delhi logged the highest number of fresh cases in the country in the week ended on April 24. The national capital has logged 6,326 fresh infections which are higher by 2.7 times from 2,307 cases being recorded in the previous week.
Karnataka CM Bommai to issue fresh Covid-19 Guidelines
On Sunday, Karnataka registered 60 fresh cases of Covid-19 along with zero death, pushing the total tally of Covid-19 to 39,46,934, as per the state health bulletin.
Amid rising Covid-19 cases, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will issue fresh guidelines regarding Covid-19 after attending a video conference with PM Modi on April 27. He said, "The Union Government has already issued a caution alert. A slight increase in Covid cases has been recorded in Kerala and Maharashtra in the last 8-10 days. Based on the experience of the last three waves, experts also have suggested suitable precautionary measures. It is important for people to be careful", quoted as saying by News 18.
