On Friday, India has reported 2,64,202 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 1,09,345 recoveries and 315 virus related deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. Currently, the country's total death toll stands at 4,85,350 whereas the caseload of total recoveries has increased to 3,48,24,706. India's daily positivity rate is at 14.78% while weekly rate is at 11.83%,the ministry said. 

The ministry said, India's active caseload currently stands at 12,72,073 while positivity rate of Covid-19 cases is 14.78%. Under Nationwide Vaccination Drive a total of 155.39 cr vaccine doses have been administered so far.

As per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 69.90 cr total tests conducted so far, including 17,87,457 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. As per the ministry, over 15.17 crore balance COVID vaccine doses are available with the states/UTs. 

The country's Omicron tally has reached to 5,753, which an increase of 4.83% since yesterday. 

Delhi 

Delhi has reported the highest ever daily surge in Covid-19 infections today with 28,867 new infections as the positivity rate surged to 29 per cent. As reported by the officials, the number of containment zones in the city has increased from 1,000 to nearly 24,000 within the past fortnight. 

South Delhi has the maximum containment zones at 8,383 followed by West Delhi at 4,109, Central Delhi at 3,493, and New Delhi at 2,354. The lowest number of containment zones are in East Delhi at 151, North East Delhi at 279, North West at 547 and South West Delhi at 851.
