On Friday, May 13, India reported 2,841 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 9 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Health Ministry. The active caseload of Covid-19 in the nation currently stands at 18,604, said the ministry.
Active cases comprise 0.04 percent of the total caseload. With 9 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, the death toll due to viral infection has climbed to 5,24,190, said the ministry.

Daily and weekly positivity rate
As per the ministry, the daily positivity rate stands at 0.58 percent and the weekly positivity rate has declined to 0.69 percent. With 3,295 people recuperating from the viral infection in the last 24 hours, the total caseload of recoveries has climbed to 4,25,73,460, said the ministry.

Precaution Vaccine Dose available for travelers
On Thursday, the Union Ministry of Health announced to give a precautionary dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to Indian residents and students willing to travel overseas as per the guidelines of the destination country. The Union health minister, Mansukh Mandaviya said that the new facility will be made available to the public through the Cowin portal soon.
Maharashtra
On Friday, the Thane district of Maharashtra reported 25 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the total tally of infections to 7,09,293, an official said. He also said that these cases were reported on Thursday.
