On Monday, India reported 3,157 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 40 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. The active caseload in the country has climbed to 19,500, said the ministry. 

The total tally of Covid-19 infections in the country has reached 4,30,79,188. With 40 fresh virus-related fatalities in the last 24 hours, the death toll in the country has climbed to 5,23,843, said the ministry. 

With 2,723 people recuperating from the viral infection in the last 24 hours, the death toll has climbed to 4,25,38,976, the data showed. The country's daily positivity rate stands at 1.07 percent and the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.70 percent, said the data. 

Punjab

On Sunday, Punjab registered 21 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the tally of Covid-19 infections to 7,59,615, as per the state health bulletin. With zero fatality being registered, the death toll remained stable at 17,748. 

Puja, Namaz in Public areas were banned as curbs were imposed in Gautam Buddh Nagar 

The Police Commissioner at Gautam Buddh Nagar said, "No one should be allowed to conduct any protests or hunger strike without the permission of the higher authorities. Organizing puja and offering of Namaz in public places will not be allowed." Additionally, he said that people must wear masks in public places. The schools will also have to follow proper Covid-19 protocol during examinations as per these guidelines.
