On Tuesday, India has recorded 67,597 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the number of confirmed COVID cases in the country have now reached to 4, 23, 39, 611. The country's active caseload of Covid-19 cases has now reached to 9,94, 891, said the ministry. 

The death toll due to Covid-19 

The death toll due to Covid-19 has reached to 5,04,062. With a total of 1,80,456 recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours, the caseload of total recoveries has reached to 4,08,40, 658 or 96.46 per cent of the total confirmed cases, the ministry said. 

The daily positivity rate 

As per the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 5.02 per cent on February 8 morning. It showed that 74. 29 crore total tests have been carried out in India so far of which 13,46,534 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. 

Meanwhile, Delhi has reported 1,151 fresh cases, 15 fatalities and 2,120 recoveries in the last 24 hours; active cases stand at 7,885, the ministry said.
