On Wednesday, India has reported 9,195 fresh Covid cases, which is 44% higher than yesterday, while the active cases have reached to 77,002, according to the Union health ministry data update. The active cases comprise 0.22 per cent of the total infections, which is the lowest since March 2020. The national Covid-19 recovery rate has improved to 98.40 per cent, which is the highest since March 2020, said the health ministry. 

India's Covid-19 case tally has climbed to 3,48,08,886, as per the health ministry. Currently, there are 77,002 active Covid cases in the nation. With 302 Covid-related deaths, India's death toll has reached to 4,80,592, the ministry said. 

Omicron Cases 

The Omicron cases have reached to 781 now in India. Delhi has reported 238 Omicron cases, which is the highest in India so far, followed by Maharashtra at 167, Gujarat 73, Kerala 65 and Telangana 62, said the health ministry.
