On Wednesday, August 31, India reported 7,231 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 45 fresh fatalities and 10,828 people recovering from the deadly infection in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the overall caseload in the country has climbed to 4,44,28,393 and the death toll has reached 5,27,874, said the data.

Comprising 0.15 percent of the total cases, the active caseload currently stands at 64,667, said the ministry. 

The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate have reached 2.05 percent and 2.55 percent respectively, as per the ministry. 

Odisha 

On Tuesday, Odisha reported 232 fresh cases and 1 fresh fatality, taking the overall tally to 13,27,382 and the death toll has reached 9,175, as per the health bulletin. 

Delhi 

On Tuesday, the national capital reported 382 fresh cases of coronavirus along with 5 fresh fatalities, as per the data updated by the state health bulletin. The positivity rate currently stands at 2.85 percent in the city.
