On Wednesday, July 7, India logged 16,159 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 28 new fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health Ministry. With this, the total tally of coronavirus infections in the nation has climbed to 4,35,47,809, and the death toll has reached 5,25,270, said the ministry. Comprising 0.26 percent of the total infections, the active caseload stands at 1,15,212, said the data.

With the recovery rate standing at 98.53 percent, 15,394 people have recuperated from the viral infection in the last 24 hours, taking the overall recovery caseload to 4,29,07,327, said the ministry. The daily positivity rate and the weekly positivity rate currently stand at 3.56 percent and 3.84 percent respectively, as per the health ministry. 

Singapore 

On Tuesday, Singapore reported 12,784 new Covid-19 cases along with 2 new virus-related fatalities, taking the death toll to reach 1,421, as reported by Reuters. Out of 12,784 cases, 12,248 local people tested positive for the viral infection and 536 had arrived from abroad, said the Health Ministry. 

Thane 

On Wednesday, as per a health official, Thane reported 348 new cases of coronavirus, taking the total tally to 7,30,069. As per the official, these cases were reported on Tuesday. With this, the active caseload in the district has reached 3,982. 

Maharashtra 

Maharashtra logged 3,098 fresh Covid-19 cases along with 6 fatalities and 4,207 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as reported by the news agency ANI. 

Tamil Nadu 

On Tuesday, Tamil Nadu reported 2,662 new Covid-19 cases, taking the overall caseload of infections in the state to 34,88,091, as per the state health department. With 1,512 people recuperating from the viral infection, the recovery tally in the state has climbed to 34,33,299, as per the state health department.
