The year 2020 has already been a devastating year due to Covid-19 pandemic and the situation is getting worse day by day in 2021, confirming this year to be at more risk from the previous one. Dr.V.K. Paul, member of NITI Aayog said "the current situation in the country is going from bad to worse. The trends show that the virus is still very active."
Covid-19 is increasing continuously, deteriorating economies in many low and middle-income countries and the presence of its strains, also reducing the vaccine efficacy. The pandemic in the recent year has been increased tremendously with lots of risk in human’s life.
People have changed their lifestyle to bring safety. Despite much precautions, Covid-19 is increasing, affecting millions of life. The current data, when compared with previous year data confirms, that the risk of pandemic in 2021 has increased many folds. Many countries where pandemic was seen to be controlled are also affected. These countries includes USA, Brazil, India, France, and Russia.
Another wave of shutdown and lockdown in many places are taken place with more strict guidelines. With the Covid-19 outbreak all around, people also show the mode of severe depression with lots of fear in their mind.

Pandemic again rises to the extreme, affecting people physically and mentally. Their fear and stress has gone beyond with loads of thoughts, anxiety and fear.

Which countries are affecting more with this pandemic Covid-19?
Different countries are affecting with pandemic differently such as United States, France, Poland, Italy, Brazil and many more, have reached a high level of cases and again these countries have imposed lockdown to break the chain of covid-19 transmission.

New cases are reported in many folds in India from few days. According to the Union Health Ministry, India is among the one, where the cases are shooting up in lakhs making people to be in worried state and affecting their mental health to high extent. With the high speed of Corona, the number of active cases in India has crossed 9 lakhs, which is 7.04 percent of the total cases. According to the Union Health Ministry, the mostly affected stated in India are Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra among them is the biggest contributor having highest cases of covid-19.
Why to get vaccinated when there are new variants of the virus are present?
Continuous virus mutations making new variants, and thus the vaccines ineffective, and resulting in the transmission of disease among people. As per WHO, data collection and analysis are continued on new variants of COVID-19, to understand by health officials, about its effect on vaccines.
Vaccines are an important tool to fight against COVID-19, and as per healthcare authorities, it has lifesaving benefits. As per WHO, we much proceed with the vaccination despite of new corona variant, as new variants can reduce the effectiveness of vaccines very less and somehow can protect us from worse symptoms to be happened. It has also been said that continuous efforts are given to improve the vaccines efficacy and tools against new covid-19 variants.
How to prevent future from new variants of the COVID-19 virus?
Stopping the viral spread as per the research is nearly impossible as of now. As per WHO, following the previous measures is still helpful to work against new variants and also reduces the transmission. This include frequent hand washing, wearing a mask, social distancing, good ventilation and avoiding crowded places
Increase vaccine manufacturing and rolling out as quickly and widely as possible will also be the one way of protecting people from the virus exposure and the risk of new variants. Priority should be given to vaccinating people at higher-risk groups to maximize global protection against new variants and minimize the risk of transmission. More people get vaccinated, less viral transmission and fewer mutation occurs.
To end the pandemic, it is important that the virus must either be eliminated worldwide —or people must build up sufficient immunity either through vaccine or from the Covid-19 infection. It is estimated that 55–80% of a population must be immune to end the pandemic, depending on the countries situation as said in study.

As the corona waves still continue in 2021, there have been lots of advices given by experts and healthcare. Here are the some of the expert’s tips that one should follow to prevent from Covid-19
- Follow the ground rules i.e. wearing a mask, sanitization, regular hand-washing, cleaning the work surface and maintain social distancing.
- As the cases surging continuously, everyone should stick to news channel, to keep up to date about corona.
- Many emotional stress causes stomachache, indigestion or heartburn, so it is important to manage these problems by taking advise from the doctors.
- The American Red Cross also advise to avoid touching the mouth, nose, or eyes when you are out and done only after washing the hands.
- Anyone with a fever or cough should avoid traveling.
- Due to very little data availability for pregnant women, it is advisable to take precautions as much as possible and also avoid to go outside as it increases the chance of infection more.
- Be prepared and do not panic if you infected and have symptoms. Immediately call to the doctor.

Although the risk of pandemic is higher this year due to presence of many variants of covid-19, but there are reasons to be hopeful i.e. availability of vaccine and certain treatments. Proper precautions at the end is on the top priority.
