On Monday, as per the data released by Health Ministry, India has reported 25,072 fresh cases of Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours. However, 44,157 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours, as per health ministry. 

As per the released data, active cases account for 1.03% of total cases which is the lowest since March 2020.  "50,75,51,399 samples tested up to 22nd August 2021 for Covid-19. Of these, 12,95,160 samples were tested yesterday", stated Indian Council of Medical Research.

On Sunday, Andhra Pradesh has reported 1,085 fresh cases of coronavirus, 1,541 recoveries and 8 deaths in 24 hours ending 9 am. The total caseload of the infection in the state stands at 20,02,340 positives, 19,73,940 recoveries and 13,723 deaths. 

On Sunday, Delhi reported zero daily deaths due to the virus for the third consecutive day. "24 fresh cases of the infection were registered. The positivity rate stands at 0.04 per cent, according to the health department", reported news agency PTI. 

On Saturday, "over 92,300 people got vaccinated against Covid-19 in Delhi of which 64,931 received their first dose. As many as 34.86 lakh people have received both the doses according to the data released by health department", reported Hindustan Times.
