Summers can be a favorite season for some people and for some it can be a time of discomfort but along with intense heat it also is a season that brings variety of fruits and vegetables for us to devour and they all are healthy for our body. The seasonal fruits of this time includes mangoes, melons and berries. They all are beneficial in dealing with the hot summers.
Melons are a common fruit around this time, watermelons and muskmelons are high in water content that helps in regulating body temperatures. Staying hydrated helps us in keeping our memory sharp and also helps in giving you a clear skin, they also help in weight loss when taken along with doing exercises as the high-water content keeps you satisfied on few calories.
Mangoes are a delicacy during the summers, they are also high in iron content and also help people increase the calcium content in their bodies. It is a very refreshing fruit that helps in preventing heat strokes. Mangoes are rich in vitamins A and C that help build the immune system.
Salads containing kale and lettuce to sprouts have high health benefits. Leafy greens are rich in carotenoids which the body converts into vitamin A, this helps in protecting the skin from the harmful UV rays. It also helps in mending of dry skin by strengthening the skins defences against the sun. The best thing about salads is they can be mixed with anything ranging from fruits to fish and still taste delicious
Cucumbers are loaded with fibre and consuming it during summers keep constipation at bay, they are also high in water content so having them during summers helps us keep ourselves cool.
Coconut water is rich in essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, it has cooling properties as well and helps in fighting against the hot weather making it a perfect summer drink. Studies have also shown that drinking coconut water regularly helps in protecting against cancer.
