The Biotech company SaNOtize in collaboration with NHS hospitals in UK, concluded that the treatment with Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray ( NONS), which is a nasal spray, found to have reduced SARS-CoV-2 viral load by more than 95% in infected people within 24 hours and more than 99% in 72 hours. This nasal spray can be self-administered. 

The Phase 2 trial of this spray is claimed by both the organisation to be highly effective for  antiviral treatment of Covid19. The Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evaluated 79 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the majority are severely infected with the UK variant and no adverse events were found with its use in this group. The organisation also announced the results that NONS not only help to prevent transmission but reduces the severity of the symptoms and reduces the damage in those who have already been infected.

How NONS work ?

SaNOtize treatment is said to be very effective as it is made in such a way that it kills the virus in the upper airways and prevent its entry inside and thus prevent from spreading into the lungs. It is made of a Nitric oxide ( NO), a natural nano molecule, produced in human body that have a proven anti-microbial properties, which directly affect the virus causing COVID-19.Data of Nitric oxides toxicity, pharmacology and safety have already been established earlier. Molecules released from this NONS are in the gaseous form. As per Dr. Chris Miller, Chief Science Officer and co-founder of SaNOtize added, "NONS destroys the virus by blocking its entry and therefore stops the viral replication within the nasal cavity, which in turn rapidly decreases the viral load.

Many Scientist claimed it to be beneficial against second wave of Covid-19 to bring back the normal life and are awaiting for quick authorisation. 

Doctors opinion on this Spray against Covid-19

A medical virologist and Consultant of NHS clinical Trial Dr. Stephen Winchester, on his note expected this to be a global battle against COVID-19 pandemic and considered this nasal spray could be highly effective in COVID-19 treatment and reducing further transmission. Furthers, in his trial included patients with a variant of concern and high viral loads, he demonstrated significant reductions of SARS-CoV-2, which could be critical in supporting vaccines, preventing future outbreaks. 

Dr Stephen Winchester and Dr Isaac John at Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust concluded that NONS helps reduce the SARS-CoV-2 by a factor of 16-fold versus the placebo.

The CEO and co-founder of SaNOtize Dr. Gilly Regev found NONS to be safe and effective in clinical trial and stated to move this spray with urgency into publics hand which bring this pandemic into end and return humans life into normal and felicitate a safe environment. 

NONS is the only new therapeutic treatment so far proven to reduce viral load in human. Currently, due to lack of therapy against Covid-19, NONS also in combination with the roll-out vaccines, can help to reduce viral load which is linked to the infection and disease, causing severe damage. As per the higher authorities, this can be made widely and readily available to the public. 

New Zealand and Israel have already approved its sale in public under the brand name Enovid and expected to bring drastic change this season.
