Covid-19 is a global crisis affecting millions of people worldwide. Infection with this new virus will cause symptoms which varies from person to person. Some experience mild or asymptomatic symptoms while others show severe impact. 

According to the new study, those who recovered from corona infection, develops natural immunity which last for few months to lifetime. However, the immunity develops depends on the severity of infection, age and underlying conditions. Common questions that comes in every mind especially in those who recovered from Covid-19 disease like: 



According to the studies:

Maximum antibodies develop when the body fights off the infection. Antibodies reaches to its peak level in 90-120 days after Covid-19 infection. 

According to few other studies:

  • It has been found that increased level of antibody markers was detected in people with more symptoms during their recovery, in comparison to those who had less than five symptoms. Thus, it is suspected that people with mild or asymptomatic symptoms, develops strong immunity but may disappear faster than those with severe infection. 
  • It has been also found in one study, that those who recovered from severe Covid-19, had strong memory T-cell responses and high level of antibodies against this virus. 
  • A recent study in the ''European Journal of Immunology'' found that higher levels of antibodies are formed in patients with more severe disease.  
  • A study by researchers at Stanford Medicines, found in people with mild symptoms that antibodies in these cases, targets different part of virus, which therefore disappears within several months of infection. 
The Bottom Line

Whether mild, sever or asymptomatic infection with SARS-CoV-2 occurs, most people develop immunity against virus, which remains for many months and can fight during reinfection. It is advisable to those who recovered from mild Covid-19 infection or those who are asymptomatic, should take better precaution for themselves to stay safe.
