In a horrific instance of child sexual exploitation, a 19-year-old man who was identified as Ayan Ahmed Tanveer alias Mohammad Ayaz was arrested by the Amravati Rural Police in Maharashtra on April 14-15, 2026. The accused is a resident of Paratwada (Achalpur), district of Amravati, who is said to have enticed about 180 minor girls via social media platforms on a pretext of a love trap.
It has been reported that he also took multiple victims to Mumbai and Pune and sexually exploited them and secretly shot more than 350 obscene videos without their consent. Of these, approximately 100 videos were allegedly spread online and were used to blackmail the girls into further exploitation or even silence the girls.
The matter was revealed on the complaint of a BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Dr. Anil Bonde. The police have created a case based on appropriate provisions of the POCSO Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) under Section 294, and the Information Technology Act. The suspected official has been detained by the police until April 21. The investigators believe that the network is bigger and have called on more victims to come out. The event has created an uproar in the state.
