In another heinous incident in Amravati district of the state of Maharashtra, the police arrested eight suspects who were involved in the sexual exploitation of close to 180 young girls who were underage. Ayan Ahmed Tanveer Ahmed (also Ayaz Mohammad or Tanveer), 19, the main suspect, supposedly used social media and love traps to seduce girls, mostly Class 11-12 students.
He would bring them to a rented flat or places such as the cities of Mumbai and Pune, where he sexually abused them and captured more than 350 obscene videos. The videos were purportedly applied to blackmail some of them and even circulated on the Internet. One of the accused, Manav Sugandhe (20), furnished his apartment with the crimes.
Other detained persons are Ujer Khan, Mohammed Sadh, Tarbez Khan, Aifaz Khan, Mohammed Imran, Shaikh Naved, and Manav Sugandhe. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been created under Achalpur ASP. It was done after a complaint by BJP Rajya Sabha MP Anil Bonde. There have been cases that are registered by the POCSO Act, BNS, and IT Act. Investigation is new to discover more victims and a potential broader network.
