On Saturday, India has reported 38,628 new Covid-19 cases, 40,017 recoveries and 617 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the data released by Health Ministry. Data reveals that active cases constitute 1.29% of total cases. Recovery rate in the country currently stands at 97.37%. 

As per the data released by Health Ministry, weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.39%. Daily positivity rate stands at 2.21%, has remained below 3% since 12 days. Till date 47.83cr Covid-19 tests are conducted. 

Presently, the tally of active cases has reached to 4,12,153, total caseload in the country stands at 3,18,95,385. Along with this tally of total recoveries stands at 3,10,55,861. The death toll has reached to 4,27,371. Meanwhile, 49,55,138 vaccinations are administered in the last 24 hrs. Total vaccination administered in the country reached to 50,10,09,609.

Meghalaya's Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said, "Meghalaya is looking to reopen educational institutions after mid-August." Speaking to reporters, he added, "there is a need to resume classroom teachings as soon as possible, especially in higher education institutes."
