One of the shocking videos shared on the internet is an event that went out of control in East Delhi as a 28-year-old property dealer, Pawan Kumar, shot and killed himself while in possession of a pistol. The video, shot by his cousin in the New Ashok Nagar/Dallupura locality on March 16, 2026, shows Pawan loading the licensed gun (which belongs to Himanshu) when his cousin tells him to be safe and not to shoot.
Pawan then jams the magazine in, cocks the gun, briefly smiles towards the camera, lays it against his left breast, and then pulls the trigger. He falls dead on the spot with a scream. He was taken to Dharamshila Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The pistol, the cartridges, and the phone were seized, and a case of culpable homicide, which was not a murder, was registered under the Arms Act. Himanshu was arrested. Urban inquiries investigate whether it was an accident of being otherwise handled during reel manufacturing or otherwise, against the background of warnings about gun safety and about the perils of irresponsible social media antics. The video has provoked anger about the irresponsible gun handling in India.
