On a recent Sunday, North India, including the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), experienced tremors as a magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck near Faridabad in Haryana. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported that the earthquake's epicenter was a mere 9 kilometers from Faridabad, occurring around 4:08 pm local time. This seismic event occurred shortly after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake in western Nepal had sent tremors through several parts of North India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
Continued Seismic Activity in Afghanistan
In a region already affected by seismic events, Afghanistan also witnessed a powerful 6.3 magnitude earthquake on Sunday, originating approximately 34 kilometers outside Herat, the provincial capital. This came just over a week after a series of strong earthquakes and aftershocks had caused significant destruction and loss of life in various parts of the country.
