Delhi Police has been put on high alert following a demonstration by factory workers in its neighboring town of Noida, which, on April 13, 2026, erupted in violence. The protest over salary increases and improved working conditions grew out of control in Phase 2 of Noida and Sector 60 of Noida, and in other industrial estates, vehicles were being burned down and stones thrown at the police officers and property worth millions angered the protesting officials.
The outposts of the national capital have also sent more forces on all key entry points linking the state to Noida, including major borders, to ensure any spillage of unrest is blocked. Delhi Traffic Police put out an advisory to stay off the road instead of road blockades and protests that may create a major disruption to the traffic by taking alternate paths like DND Flyway, NH-24, or Kondli.
The strike, which is in its fourth day, is the result of the long-standing wage revision requests in light of increasing living expenses. Uttar Pradesh Police used tear gas and mild force to disperse the crowds. The authorities are exploring how provocative factors might be involved and inciting dialogue as a way of settling labor disputes amicably. In rush hours, commuters were exposed to huge queueing.
