Google has now opened up its Gemini app with the option of Google notebooks, meaning all users can now enjoy it, including free users.
Non-production Launched first in April 2026 to subscribers of Google AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus, Notebooks allow users to categorize conversations, post files, and have a consistent context to handle intricate projects. The feature is in sync with NotebookLM, making Gemini a research associate and a personal knowledge base.
Now there is a new section called Notebooks on the right-hand side of Gemini just above Gems and Chats. Free users may add up to 50 sources to a notebook, whereas paid plans have bigger limits (100 on Plus, 300 on Pro and 600 on Ultra).
The move will increase the use of the productivity tools in Gemini. Full Gemini access and web search are available in notebooks so that one can work on ongoing work, studies, or research without upgrading. The attribute is being launched on the web and mobile across the world.
