The TMC chief complained in a press conference of huge irregularities, booth snatching, and misuse of central agencies. She alleged that the mandate was manipulated and was not ready to accept the outcome as a true measure of the will of the people.

The BJP was dominant in the election, but still, Mamata insisted that her party has actually performed better than what the Election Commission has depicted. Again she denied that she was going to resign as the chief minister and said she will not stop in her fight towards justice.

Her dramatic announcement has also added fuel to the political crisis within the state, with the leaders of the BJP party dismissing her announcement as just a mere baseless excuse to lose an election. The Election Commission is yet to respond to the allegations.
