In a passionate speech during the raging US-Israel-Iran confrontation, the military spokesperson of Iran scoffed at the withdrawal of the USS Gerald R. Ford carrier as evidence of the vacuity of America and as the paper tiger. He mocked the way a 13 billion dollar warship had fled expensive speedboats, and this put the West at a disadvantage.
The rhetoric was further fuelled by the spokesperson when he threatened Trump and Netanyahu with the same fate as Saddam, who was captured and tried after having been captured and downed by his former Iraq leader, Saddam Hussein, following the US invasion of the country in 2006. This is after US and Israeli well-coordinated attacks wiped out Iranian leaders, nuclear facilities, and military resources, with news of the death of Supreme Leader Khamenei and incapacitated capabilities.
Iran will only fight till the end or become martyrs, and they pledge to retaliate in every conceivable manner. The combative statement is increasing the anxieties of the chronic war in the region, putting in comparisons to the previous regime's collapse as Trump and Netanyahu advocate unlimited regime change in Tehran. The tension is still growing, and there is no sign of it de-escalating any time soon.
