The question that devotees all over India are posing is, is Ram Navami on March 26 or 27, 2026? The festival is observed on Thursday, March 26, to celebrate the birth of Lord Rama in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, according to the most credible sources of Panchang, such as DrikPanchang and TimeandDate. Late at night or in the early morning of March 27, the Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Chaitra starts at about 2:18AM or, in other calculations, in the late morning of March 26. Hindu culture attaches importance to the Udaya Tithi (rule of sunrise) and the Madhyahna Muhurat (midday rule, between 11:13 AM and 1:41 PM on March 26), which makes the day of March 26 the major day. It may be celebrated on March 27 in some Vaishnava traditions or even in a particular temple. Coinciding with this year on the day of Chaitra Navratri (March 1927), the special puja, Ramayana recitations, and fasting are an added spice to it. This mix-up has been caused by tithi overlap, though the commonly observed mainstream is on March 26. Jai Shri Ram!
