This is the most awaited engineering entrance exam. JEE Main 2026 session 2 has commenced for the first time today, April 2, and is being taken by more than 11.23 lakh students in 566 exam centers in 304 cities in India and 14 abroad.
The exam will proceed until April 8 and will cover Paper 1 (BE/BTech) on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 and Paper 2A (B) on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 (Arch), and 2B (B.Planning) will be done on April 7.
Shift Timings:
- Shift 1 — 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Shift 2 — 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
What to Carry:
Validated government photo identification (Aadhaar/Passport/Driving License), two passport-size photographs, and printouts of the admit card.
What NOT to Carry:
Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, stationeries, bags, or other electronic devices are strongly forbidden.
Dress Code:
Put on light, easy-going clothes. Thick-soled shoes, metal buttons, jackets, and/or heavy accessories should be avoided. It will be done through biometric verification of Aadhaar at every center.
Result Date:
NTA will announce the result of the JEE Main Session 2 by April 20, 2026. The highest 2.5 lakh scorers will be eligible for JEE Advanced on May 17, 2026, the 1st stage to IITs.
