It's a popular practice to leave an iPhone or laptop charger plugged in on a 24-hour basis, and while it can be, it's a small problem with real consequences. Today's chargers have a very low “phantom load”/”vampire” power consumption that occurs whenever they're plugged in, even when no device is being powered. It's the allotment per charger and is only about 0.5 watts to 2 watts but can cost you ₹50-150 a month when multiple devices are used over a few months.
Most significantly, the repeated plugging strains the components inside. Damaged or overheated chargers can set fire to the battery and, in extreme situations, can melt, which may lead to electrical fires. This risk is exacerbated in substandard and/or outdated chargers.
Product manufacturers recommend removing chargers from después use. It saves energy, also reduces fire hazard, and prolongs the life of the charger. Small changes to your routine, such as with an electrical plug or power strip, can make a huge difference in terms of safety and saving money.
